I like the sound of wind chimes and trees. I like light jackets, denim jackets. I like wearing long sleeves and short shorts. I love sandals but think that bare toes have fallen out of favor with sartorial movements. I like the changing of seasons but wish for summer to linger. I like to be on the water, to jump off of docks and dip in rivers. I like shotgunning beers with friends, ridiculous as we seem. I wish for all things to last; I feel the sting of loss before it’s even time to grieve. I relish and hate the melancholic. I like relish on my hotdogs, and sauerkraut and mustard. I like frogs and crickets and even the faint sound of traffic at night. I am always between worlds. I’d love to linger on the edge of a moment, to be the tinkle of a chime on the coattails of a lovely storm. I hope summer will burn and never fade.
