Boise PhotoGrid — Branding & Visual Identity

Boise PhotoGrid is a collective of 18 photographers documenting Boise one square at a time. Each month, we draw a new section of the city at random and spend the following weeks photographing it, building a collaborative portrait of the familiar through 18 different perspectives.

I created the logo and visual identity for the project, drawing inspiration from neighborhood signage found throughout American cities, particularly in Boise. A recurring shape in these signs happened to resemble the outline of a camera body, providing a natural starting point for the mark.

The color palette pairs road-sign green with a rusty red inspired by historical markers, while map-inspired graphic elements reinforce the project's connection to place. Together, these elements create a flexible visual framework designed to house the photography without distracting from it, whether viewed on social media, across a website, or on gallery walls and exhibition materials.
