A good headshot starts before the shutter clicks. My first priority is helping the person in front of the camera feel at ease—because authenticity can’t be forced. Truth is what makes a photograph resonate. I want everyone I photograph to feel comfortable and accurately represented.
For my own team at United Way of Treasure Valley, it was important that these portraits feel honest and human, reflecting the group’s warmth, professionalism, and dedication to the community we serve. I chose a white backdrop and high-key lighting to create clean, consistent portraits that highlight each individual’s approachable, genuine presence.
I’ve photographed teams across many industries—from law firms to healthcare providers—and found the same thing to be true: when people feel comfortable being themselves, authenticity follows. That honesty is what gives a headshot its lasting impact.
